The new Stub Driver from Lost Surfboards is the surfboard you were looking for on a daily basis. Developed by Kolohe Andino the Lost 3.0 STUB DRIVER is a direct derivative of the LOST DRIVER 3.0.

A surfboard designed for elite surfers looking for the "Ultimate Riding Machine". Tested primarily in and around World Tour waves (not necessarily the typical 1-3 foot soft tangle that most of us suffer through on a daily basis), the DRIVER3.0 still left room on the bottom end for superior performance in smaller waves.

SURF LEVEL: You have your signature style. Assessing the formation and catching any wave now allows you to surf a wide range of surfboards surf designs.

WAVE TYPE: Works in Beach Breaks but also in Point Breaks and Reef Breaks

COMPARISON LOST 3.0 SUB DRIVER vs LOST SUB DRIVER

Unlike the Sub-Driver (our other stepped performance surfboards ), the 3.0 STUB does not use vee in the tail. Instead, it features a continuous combination of rocker and concavo. This is the main difference between the two. Although noticeably relaxed compared to the rocker of the DRIVER 3.0, it is still loose and lively, quick and easy to release under the rear foot. Fits more easily into small pockets or fast, steep sections than the SubDriver. Perfect for small beach breakers.

Similarities in the rocker, bottom contours and outline, keep a closer feel when switching between the DRIVER3.0 and 3.0STUB. That was the goal and that is the result.

Relaxed entry rocker, with a slightly wider nose area.
Relaxed tail rocker, with a light hip and wider tail block (but not as wide as the SubDrivers).
Wider overall, with thickness carried more toward the nose and under the rear foot.
Deeper single and double concave combination, for better handling in smaller waves.
Slightly flatter deck, with more rounded and forgiving edges, allowing the surfer more margin for error.

Working with Kolohe, who after riding the LOST DRIVER 3.0 in proper surf, wanted to feel like he was riding the same surfboard, in T-Street or small Trestles. Riding SubDrivers "felt almost stiff." He wanted a surfboard that required no adjustments in technique and he could switch seamlessly between DRIVER3.0.

"Why not just make a surfboard step-down from that one?"

That's exactly what Lost Surfboards has done with this surfboard. Lost has left it in the hands of its WQS riders: Crosby Cola, Cole Houshmand, Eli Hanniman and Michael Dunphy, all of whom immediately responded with positive feedback. Now the Lost Stub Driver 3.0 is part of the Lost team surfers' quiver for when it's time to surf small waves in the Challenger Series.
