As its name suggests, the REVO is a revolution in High Performance board design.
Following Tomo's philosophy, this surfboard eliminates everything that is not strictly necessary and has been developed to obtain the best possible performance/functionality ratio.
FIREWIRE REVO review
My goal is to design the highest performance boards ever made, based on Simmons planning hulls and using World Tour level surfing as performance criteria. This new version of the MPH (Modern Planning Hull) inherits many of the features of the previous Firewire EVO model, one of the best selling and best rated boards by our customers.
To take the Firewire REVO a step further, the outline, rocker and concave have been slightly modified in order to achieve a more versatile board with better performance in quality waves.
All this without losing one of the greatest qualities of the EVO, that of having a very wide sweet spot. This translates into a board that adapts to a wide range of surfing levels by being very forgiving with technical errors and foot placement.
Add to this Firewire's new IBOLIC construction, which provides greater control, response and resistance, and this is one of the most important boards in our Rack for a very wide range of surfers.
FIREWIRE REVO SURFBOARD CHARACTERISTICS
OUTLINE
Similar in shape to its Firewire EVO predecessor, both the width of the tail and nose have been refined for ease and performance when attacking the lip of the wave in your most vertical manoeuvres.
ROCKER
While it is true that it continues to have a low entry and exit rocker to maintain that great speed that characterizes it, it has been increased slightly with respect to the EVO, improving its behavior in the curved sections of the wave.
CONCAVES
The new REVO Tomo introduces the Vee Quad Concave (VQC), which combines the exceptional handling and edge-to-edge transitions of the V-design with the lift and response of the Quad Concave (QISC).
The increased planing/resistance ratio allows for easier wave catching and quicker transitions, while maintaining the feeling of control that comes from the "rectangular" and balanced outline of the Modern Planing Hul (MPH).
EDGES
The edges are medium/low profile, with a focus on performance enhancement.
REVO FINS
Its 5 boxes offer you the possibility of using it in different configurations.
Which fins do we recommend for the Firewire REVO?
We recommend the Quad configuration, although it can also be used as a Thruster, in which case we recommend using a smaller centre fin, or with the 2+1 fin configuration.
FIREWIRE construction material: New FIREWIRE IBOLIC construction
A step forward in surfboard construction, blending the best features of the LFT and Helium.
This new Firewire construction process delivers super light and strong boards with the highest level of flex and response.
- Super light 1.5 lb (680 grams) EPS Foam
- Central springer on the deck and bottom laminated with fibreglass combines flex and strength
- The wood on the parabolic edges of the Helium is replaced by a high density foam.
- Laminated in Epoxy and 4 OZ fibre, two layers on the bottom and one on the deck, to which is added a 3mm layer of the same compound used in the Helium technology.
