The RNF 96 5'10 represents the culmination of over 25 years of evolution in surfboard design surfboards. Respectfully, but not exactly, based on the original 1996 Round Nose Fish, this model is an improved version optimized for modern surfing. From its creation for young Chris Ward and Cory Lopez - who took it all over the world during their years on the WQS circuit - to becoming an icon thanks to its appearance in the cult movie 5'5" x 19 1/4", this surfboard has marked a before and after in high performance small wave surfing. This particular size (5'10 x 20.75 x 2.56 - 35.00L) offers an excellent combination of volume and control, ideal for surfers between 70 and 85 kg looking for a versatile, powerful and maneuverable surfboard. Its narrower tail compared to other fish designs, together with a refined rocker and concave bottom with Vee, guarantees tight turns, instant acceleration and great response in critical sections.

A fish with a history in Lost Surfboards

Between 1994 and 1996, Matt Biolos shaped multiple versions of the RNF by hand, gradually refining a design that would later become legendary. The original surfboards, created for Chris and Cory, was inconsistent but revolutionary, and laid the groundwork for a new generation of surfers and shapers. In fact, Biolos recalls how his own 5'10 RNF changed the way he surfed small waves in Durban, South Africa, where it caught the attention of local shapers for its innovative design. This surfboard was not just a fun fish, but a high performance tool that exceeded the standards of the time. Unlike other fish models inspired by 70's kneeboards, the LOST RNF 96 was always based on the high performance twin fins of the late 70's and early 80's, with a clear competitive focus.
