It is a model created by JJF based on the Gremlin but a little more High Performance although it is still classified as Funformance. It looks like a fun surfboard for summer and a medium / high level surfer. The Gremlin may be better surfboard for someone a little lower level or someone who needs a lot of volume, hence the evolution to the White Tiger.

The White Tiger is the latest offering in our Funformance category: a fun, short surfboard designed for average/below average waves.
It gets up and goes easily, flies through the weaker sections, but still lets you shred the lip and do aerials on the way down.
The first board was a side project for John John Florence, who rarely rides surfboards "fun" , he just dabbles in pure performance. It sat in his garage for maybe a year, and in the meantime I made some for his younger brother Ivan. It was the perfect design to fit Ivan's surf/skateboard style and he was soon telling us how much he loved it and sending us clips of him doing big turns and aerials on it. Eventually, JJF took out his 5'6" and immediately had a blast on it too. It is now one of John's favorite surfboards 's to ride when he has time off from the tour and just wants to play with something different.
Here's the basic info on what makes the White Tiger work:
He has a clean but short outline, with a very full nose and a wide squash tail. There is no hip and the wide point is 1 ½" off center. The tail measurement is slightly wider than the nose.
The thickness is also concentrated forward, with a parrot beak design that helps maintain volume under the chest area for better paddling power.
The bottom rocker is even and flowing, flat throughout the surfboard and designed to lift quickly on the water, allowing you to build and maintain speed with ease.
The bottom has a single/double concave that extends through the first 2/3 of the surfboard and transitions into a pronounced vee/double concave in the last 1/3 through the fins and at the end of the tail. The single/double concave gives the surfboard lots of lift (think speed) while helping the wider design transition from edge to edge with ease. The vee extending from the tail also helps the surfboard lean over the edge at speed and allows it to turn into the lip with ease.
It has a relatively flat rocker that blends in with the tapered edges. This keeps plenty of volume in the surfboard while keeping it responsive in the turns and easy to pump down the line without feeling too boardy for its volume.
We recommend that you ride the White Tiger 2 to 5" shorter than your usual short surfboard, depending on your surfing ability, and ½ to 1" wider, and add a little more volume than you normally ride (JJF and Ivan ride 1.75m White Tigers and their normal surfboards is 6'5").
