Smooth as silk, even in bad waves, and possibly our fastest surfboard yet, The Red Tiger is John John Florence's new high performance surfboard, something completely different to what we have released in the past.
It is the ultimate performance machine for small/medium, slower and weaker waves, based on John's simple guideline: make it fast and fun!
The idea for this surfboard came about when John started riding some different and fun surfboards during some competition breaks. So far, his favorite over the last year has been our new surfboard Funformance flat rocker, the White Tiger (5'6"), and he asked me to turn that design into something he could take back on tour to ride when the surf was less powerful or weaker.
The outline is a bit bulky for a high performance surfboard, but the wide point is an inch behind the more traditional center, keeping the emphasis on riding it in the back half of the surfboard. The wide tail block helps maintain the area in the tail that provides lift and momentum, and also helps create pop when going airborne. A hip moderated by the front flaps puts a break in the outline to help create a pivot point that allows for tighter radius turns and release on the lip.
The rocker and lower contour is really what sets this surfboard apart from others in this category. It's our flattest high performance surfboard yet and that rocker translates into easy, consistent speed from the moment you stand up, through flat sections and even in small, very weak waves. But, flat rocker can feel sticky and tends to make surfing flat, so we ran a single to double concave (JJF's favorite concave) through the front two-thirds of the surfboard and then mixed it with a significant double concave/deep vee through the fins and out the tail. This bottom keeps the surfboard flat easy to rocker from edge to edge and the V of the tail works to allow for easy vertical surfing and short turns even in tight, pocket waves.
The thickness flow (profile) from nose to tail is balanced and clean, with the front of the surfboard just thinner than the back half. The deck is more or less flat, maintaining more foam (volume) towards the rails. The actual rails are full just inside the contour (below the ball of the hand if you hold the surfboard under your arm), but taper to maintain feel and grip.
Mount your Red Tiger about an inch shorter than your normal high-performance surfboard and a little wider. Volume should be similar, but increase by half a liter to a liter for more power on weaker waves. This surfboard will easily turn your everyday sessions into something special

You have 14 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.

Refunds
Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item.

Shipping
