CI PRO 2.0

The CI 2.0 PRO features the same outline and bottom that won the 2022 SITD with Jack Robinson, but uses a reduced rocker to better suit the surf style and waves that we believe will be available in 2023.

Upon launching the CI Pro, both rockers were tested and proved to work well in a wide variety of conditions. Since then, CI has found that many riders on the Al Merrick team like the CI Pro rocker, while others prefer the 2.Pro, both of which have been used extensively by the team worldwide for over a year.

When considering the waves to be surfed at Stab in the Dark 2022, Channel Islands felt that the larger rocker version would complement the power and shape of the waves in Hawaii, as well as Jack Robinson's surfing style. In analyzing this year's contest, CI had a sneaking suspicion that the surfer would be Italo Ferreira. Taking into account his surfing style and the wide variety of waves that could be found in Brazil, they made a new version of the 2023 winning CI PRO, the CI 2.0 PRO but with slightly less rocker.

Keeping the goal of maximum performance, the Al Merrick 2.Pro offers more speed thanks to less rocker, making it easier to surf for a wide range of surfers in a wider variety of waves. With ¼" less rocker overall compared to the CI Pro, the 2.Pro maintains the same subtle single concave that transforms into a slight double concave through the fins, allowing the surfboard to stay in the water and create that familiar connected feel during transitions.

Our experience has shown us that if someone is a fan of the CI Pro, the 2.Pro complements their collection, as some of the riders on the team will choose it for less demanding conditions. If someone was intimidated by the CI Pro, the 2.Pro opens up new possibilities.
